NGY is perfect for both high-density converged data center infrastructure testing and high density 10 GE switch test beds. NGY load modules leverage Ixia’s converged data center test applications to NGY offer the highest port scalability, virtual scalability, protocol coverage, and the most affordable test solution available for data communications testing.
Ixia’s NGY solution provides four times the 10 GE port density of Ixia’s nearest competitor. NGY offers a greener testing alternative when used with the Ixia XM12 high performance or XG12 rackmount chassis – it requires one-quarter of the laboratory space, consumes one-half the power, and generates lower heat compared to other test solutions. NGY comes in 2-port, 4-port and 8-port configurations, with extra performance, full performance, and reduced performance models to match your requirements and budget. No other vendor’s 10 GE data communications test solution offers a wider range of price options, interfaces, and capabilities.
Ixia’s extra performance (XP) NGY load modules (LSM10GM8XP, 4XP and 2XP) deliver higher control plane performance and scalability for both layer 3 routing protocol emulation and upper layer 4-7 stateful traffic testing. The XP series of ports use an XFP interface, and provide a small premium over the full featured models by allowing you to meet your demands for high performance and scale without undue pressure on your budget.
The XP’s capabilities are mirrored in the full performance SFP+ (LSM10GXM8S, 4S, 2S) and 10GBASE-T (LSM10GXM8GBT, 4GBT, 2GBT) interface versions of the load modules.
The NGY series of modules provides the industry’s highest density 10 Gigabit Ethernet test solution, with up to 96 ports of 10GE test ports in a single XM12 High Performance chassis.
Ixia’s high density 10 Gigabit Ethernet load modules are available with a reduced performance option. The reduced performance option provides limited layer 3 routing emulation and control plane performance, coupled with complete layer 2 and 3 data plane testing. When physical port scalability and efficient use of lab facilities are critical, the LSM10GXMR8, MR4, and the highly economical MR2 reduced feature load modules are the most affordable 10 GE test solution available for manufacturing and large port count test beds.

2 XM12 High Performance chassis (941-0009) is required for 80 or more ports of 10 GbE NGY XFP or SFP+ 8-port, load modules to be installed in a single chassis. A field replaceable power supply upgrade kit (943-0005) is available for the XM12 chassis (941-0002) to convert it to the high-performance version. Up to ten 8-port NGY 10GBASE-T full performance load modules are supported in an XM12 High Performance chassis, and up to eight 8-port NGY 10GBASE-T full performance load modules are supported in a standard XM12 chassis).
